109 West House
The elegant historic home at 109 West Liberty Street is an ideal Savannah Vacation Rental for both leisure and business travelers. Located conveniently in the heart of Savannah Historic District, this exquisite home is perfect for Savannah Weddings, large parties, family reunions, ladies groups, couples traveling together, and Corporate Retreats.
The architect John B. Hogg – best known for his design of the Trinity Methodist Church on Telfair Square – designed the home at 109 West for Mr. William A. Thomas in 1871. It majestically presided over Savannah’s Historic Landmark District for over 100 years, but eventually fell into disrepair. When Robbie first noticed the old house at 109 West, it was abandoned, vandalized and literally boarded up.
Nonetheless, the beautiful lines of the building caught Robbie’s attention, and when it was put on the market in 2004, he lept at the chance to restore it to its former grandeur as a vacation rental. The renovation kept the integrity of the original floor plan intact while incorporating a new kitchen and bathrooms, and the restoration adhered to the Secretary of Interior Standards for historic renovations.
Today the William A. Thomas House is once again one of Savannah’s grand historic homes. As a Savannah Vacation Rental, it is unparalleled in luxury, comfort, and amenities. In its entirety, the vacation rental sleeps up to 26 people in ten bedrooms of which 7 are king and 3 are queen. There are also 2 sleeper sofas and 1 trundle bed. All beds feature very high quality mattresses with bedding in the highest class of luxury Vacation Rental Homes.
This historic Savannah GA vacation rental in the Landmark Historic District comfortably sleeps six to eight people in three spacious bedrooms, 1 king, 2 queen, and a sleeper sofa. All beds feature very high quality mattresses with bedding in the highest class of luxury Vacation Rental Homes.
Amenities include WiFi, satellite television and cable, kitchen implements, and a washer/dryer. A parking pad at rear of the property easily fits two vehicles, and there is ample street parking. The home at 507 E. Broughton Street was built in 1883 for Daniel O’Connor, uncle to American author Mary Flannery O’Connor. It is located close to the Savannah River in Savannah’s Landmark Historic District, where it is an easy walk to numerous restaurants, shops, and historic sites.
Flannery O’Connor is considered an important voice in American literature. She wrote two novels, 31 short stories, and a number of reviews and commentaries. She was a Southern writer in the vein of William Faulkner, often writing in a Southern Gothic style and relying heavily on regional settings. Her texts often take place in the South and revolve around morally flawed characters. While she didn’t actually ever live in what is now a Luxury Savannah GA Vacation Rental, we like to think of her visiting her uncle there.

The Luxury Savannah Georgia vacation rental at 511 East Broughton Street is situated on the quiet end of the main street of Savannah’s Landmark Historic District, close to the Savannah River. This Victorian Townhouse was built in 1883 and has been lovingly restored and maintained. It was a private residence for decades, and a popular bed and breakfast for a time. In fact, Robbie ran it as a bed and breakfast for several years, until he and his family had the good fortune to stay in a villa while traveling in Italy. That experience was so wonderful that he decided to transform his historic bed and breakfast into a vacation rental upon returning home.
Once the cars are parked in the garage (space for two), it is easy to explore the area on foot. Enjoy discovering historic squares and landmarks, poking in and out of shops, and succumbing to amazing Southern cooking in local restaurants.
