2012 Savannah Pride Festival - September 8th in Forsyth Park

small2webWhen I accepted the position of President of Savannah Pride, I knew how I had quite a task on my hands. What I wasn’t ready for was the amount of community support we’d receive. Savannah truly is a beautiful city inside and out. That’s why I can say the spirit of unity, acceptance, and inclusion will fill the air this September, as the 13th Annual Savannah Pride Festival kicks off in Forsyth Park.

The Festival is Saturday, September 8 from 12 – 10 p.m. and will boast dozens of vendors, thousands of people, as well as some of the biggest names in entertainment Savannah Pride has ever seen. From JoJo, to The Cusses, to The Sexual Side Effects, Savannah Pride has reached a new level of entertainment this year. We started 2012 wanting to focus on giving back to the community, this is just one way we feel that we’re able to.

This year alone Savannah Pride has given thousands of dollars worth of donations and support to several different charities including Safe Shelter, and the domestic violence shelter in Savannah. We want the festival to be all inclusive. In order to do that though, we have to give something more of ourselves to a community that gives so much to us. I think that’s why Savannah Pride has seen so much success over the past few years, and will continue to be successful well into the future.

The family area will also be back this year, featuring a place for kids to enjoy Savannah Pride too. With more than 50 vendors in 2012, there will certainly be something for everybody. Getting there early will save you money too, tickets for the festival are just $5 until 5 p.m. and go up to $7 after 5 p.m.
